Parkrun Practice

We are very pleased to announce that we are now accredited as a Parkrun Practice! We have linked up with our local Parkrun in nearby Pymmes Park to build a relationship that will benefit both patients and staff. As part of our ‘Active Practice’ initiative, we want to support our patients to lead healthier, happier, and longer lives – and regular physical exercise is a huge element of this.

There is good evidence that meeting the national guidelines of 150 minutes of exercise per week (only 22 minutes per day) can reduce or prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart disease, arthritis, and depression. Parkrun is a brilliant, free and easily-accessible way to help patients achieve this – increasing physical activity whilst fostering a sense of community and helping residents get to know their neighbours.

Why not head down to Pymmes Park at 8:45am every Saturday morning to take part with our local Parkrun partner and improve your physical and mental health and well-being? It’s free, and all levels of fitness and experience are welcome. It could be the best thing you ever do for your health.
